I was invited by dancer masu fajardo to create some sound ambients for a dance piece she was doing there, we decided to use only the sounds being created by her body and her interactions with the space. The haunting call of the pileated woodpecker, the largest woodpecker in the united states. It's quite an experience to hear this loud, rattling call break the stillness of the peaceful woods. This is a recording of applause at the end of the concert in a large auditorium. The conductor and performers walk off and on stage for multiple bows throughout. This is recorded with a small field recorder from a seat in the audience. The file politely clips in parts as people near me clapped, but it's not noticeable. The cough in the beginning is easily cut out, the file loops really well, so you can just delete that section, and it will sound continuous.

Recording from a garden in the new forest, hampshire, uk in january. I happened to put the recorder right next to where a bird (blackbird i think) decided to perch and start singing, so the song is really loud in places. All sorts of background people noise like diy, chainsaw, voices, etc. Zoom h5, internal xy capsules.

The local library has a printer whose noise i thought was quite unique. I forgot to record it the first time, so the second time i checked out books i made sure to record it. The only way to get good classroom ambiance is to record it in a classroom. That's exactly what this is. Recorded in a classroom as the students were studying and the teacher was quietly walking around. You'll hear a few random noises, some papers shuffling, some very muffled dialog, an air conditioner in the background.
